  • Animal Welfare Information Center (USDA)

  • AnimAlt-ZEBET: One of the tasks of ZEBET is to provide scientists from industry, universities and public authorities with information on alternative methods in a database developed for that specific purpose. Since February 2000 the ZEBET database on alternative methods to animal experiments has been accessible without license fees on the Internet in German and English through the German Institute for Medical Documentation and Information (DIMDI).

  • Aphasiology Archive: This database is a repository of papers presented at the Clinical Aphasiology Conference (CAC). Since 1971, the Clinical Aphasiology Conference has provided an important forum for the exchange of information related to diagnosis, assessment, and treatment of persons with communication impairments - primarily those of aphasia but also including a restricted range of related disorders.   • Books@Ovid: The Library has purchased 24 full-text books which are available via the Ovid platform. They include the Joanna Briggs Nursing Research Series and the AWHONN's Perinatal Nursing.

  • Briggs Drugs in Pregnancy and Lactation (UpToDate Lexidrug): An A-Z listing of drugs by generic name. Each monograph summarizes the known and/or possible effects of the drug on the fetus. It also summarizes the known/possible passage of the drug into the human breast milk.A careful and exhaustive summarization of the world literature as it relates to drugs in pregnancy and lactation. Each monograph contains six parts: Generic US name, pharmacologic class, risk factor, fetal risk summary, breast feeding summary and references.

  • Business Source Complete (EBSCO): A premium scholarly, full-text business database. Combined with Regional Business News Plus, Business Source Complete is a comprehensive source of company information for academic researchers. The database covers all business disciplines including marketing, management, MIS, POM, accounting, finance, and economics. Additional full text, non-journal content includes financial data, books, monographs, major reference works, book digests, conference proceedings, case studies, investment research reports, industry reports, market research reports, country reports, company profiles, SWOT analyses and more.   • CDC Pink Book - Epidemiology and Prevention of Vaccine-Preventable Diseases: The 13th edition of Epidemiology and Prevention of Vaccine-Preventable Diseases, a.k.a. the "Pink Book," provides physicians, nurses, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, pharmacists, and others with the most comprehensive information on routinely used vaccines and the diseases they prevent. Six appendices contain a wealth of reference materials including: vaccine minimum ages and intervals, current and discontinued vaccines, vaccine contents, foreign vaccine terms, and more.

  • CDC Yellow Book - Health Information for International Travel 2018: The Yellow Book is published every two years as a reference for health professionals providing care to international travelers. It is a useful resource for anyone interested in staying healthy abroad. The fully revised and updated CDC Yellow Book 2018 codifies the U.S. government's most current travel health guidelines, including pre-travel vaccine recommendations, destination-specific health advice, and easy-to-reference maps, tables, and charts.

  • Census.gov (Gov): Serves as a leading source of quality data about the nation's people and economy.

  • CINAHL Complete (EBSCO): The Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health Literature database provides indexing for more than 3,075 nursing and allied health journals. Full text is available for more than 1,300 of journals indexed in CINAHL

  • ClinicalKey: An online search tool designed to provide answers to clinical questions. Content is updated daily and includes a large collection of medical references which cover all medical specialties.   • ClinicalTrials.gov (Gov): This Web-based resource provides patients, their family members, health care professionals, researchers, and the public with easy access to information on publicly and privately supported clinical studies on a wide range of diseases and conditions. The Web site is maintained by the National Library of Medicine (NLM) at the National Institutes of Health (NIH).

  • Cochrane Library Databases: A collection of six databases that contain different types of high-quality, independent evidence to inform healthcare decision-making. A seventh database provides information about the Cochrane groups. Search all databases simultaneously.

    • Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews (CDSR): The leading resource for systematic reviews in  systematic reviews of research in healthcare and health policy . Reviews are updated to reflect the findings of new evidence when it becomes available which make them valuable sources of information for those receiving and providing care, as well as for decision-makers and researchers. The Cochrane Handbook for Systematic Reviews is the official guide that describes in detail the process of preparing and maintaining Cochrane systematic reviews on the effects of healthcare interventions. The current complete version of the Handbook is 5.1 (updated March 2011), edited by Julian Higgins and Sally Green.

    • Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials (CENTRAL): The Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials (CENTRAL) is a highly concentrated source of reports of randomized and quasi-randomized controlled trials. The majority of CENTRAL records are taken from bibliographic databases (mainly MEDLINE and Embase), but records are also derived from other published and unpublished sources. In addition to bibliographic details (author, source, year, etc.) CENTRAL records will often include an abstract (a summary of the article). They do not contain the full text of the article.

    • Cochrane Methodology Register (CMR): The Cochrane Methodology Register (CMR) is a bibliography of publications that report on methods used in the conduct of controlled trials. It includes journal articles, books, and conference proceedings, and the content is sourced from MEDLINE and hand searches. CMR contains studies of methods used in reviews and more general methodological studies that could be relevant to anyone preparing systematic reviews. CMR records contain the title of the article, information on where it was published (bibliographic details), and, in some cases, a summary of the article. They do not contain the full text of the article.

    • Database of Abstracts of Reviews of Effects (DARE): Funding for DARE ceased at the end of March 2015. The last updates to DARE were published in published in the 30 April 2015 issue of the Cochrane Library. The Database of Abstracts of Reviews of Effects (DARE) was the only database to contain abstracts of systematic reviews that had been quality-assessed. Each abstract included a summary of the review together with a critical commentary about the overall quality. DARE covered a broad range of health related interventions and reviews in fields as diverse as diagnostic tests, public health, health promotion, pharmacology, surgery, psychology, and the organization and delivery of health care.

    • Health Technology Assessment Database (HTA): The Health Technology Assessment (HTA) Database brings together details of completed and ongoing health technology assessments (studies of the medical, social, ethical, and economic implications of healthcare interventions) from around the world. The aim of the HTA Database is to improve the quality and cost-effectiveness of health care.

    • NHS Economic Evaluation Database (EED): Funding for NHS EED ceased at the end of March 2015. The NHS Economic Evaluation Database (EED) assisted decision-makers by systematically identifying economic evaluations from around the world, appraising their quality, and highlighting their relative strengths and weaknesses. The last update of April 2015 contained bibliographic records from searches of MEDLINE, Embase, CIN April 2015 onwards, until further notification.

  • Cochrane Nursing Care: The Cochrane Nursing Care Field (CNCF) is coordinated from Adelaide, Australia and consists of six groups with members from over thirty-five countries across the world. It assess published systematic reviews and identifies those which are relevant to the nursing field. List of Resources

  • Corporate ResourceNet (EBSCO): This database provides full text articles from nearly 1,200 quality magazines and journals. It includes full text sources ranging from general publications such as Fortune and Money to trade publications such as American Demographics, Chemical Week, Electronic Business and Restaurant Hospitality. The collection of titles includes top management journals such as Academy of Management Executive, California Management Review and Harvard Business Review. In addition, this database also includes detailed company profiles for the world's 10,000 largest companies. Access to this resource is provided by INSPIRE the Indiana's Online Library.

  • DailyMed (Gov): DailyMed provides trustworthy information about marketed drugs in the United States. DailyMed is the official provider of FDA label information (package inserts). This Web site provides a standard, comprehensive, up-to-date, look-up and download resource of medication content and labeling found in medication package inserts.

  • Dermis IS - DermIS.net is the largest dermatology information service available on the internet. It offers elaborate image atlases (DOIA and PeDOIA) complete with diagnoses and differential diagnoses, case reports and additional information on almost all skin diseases. Terms of Use Information.

  • Dietary Supplements Labels Database (Gov): The Dietary Supplement Label Database (DSLD) includes full label derived information from dietary supplement products marketed in the U.S. with a Web-based user interface that provides ready access to label information. It was developed to serve the research community and as a resource for health care providers and the public.

  • Disaster Information Management Research Center (Gov) : Develops and provides access to health information resources and technology for disaster preparedness, response, and recovery.

  • Drug Information Portal (Gov): The NLM Drug Information Portal gives users a gateway to selected drug information from the U.S. National Library of Medicine and other key U.S. Government agencies.  A search box allows searches to many of these resources simultaneously.  More than 49,000 drugs can be searched using this facility.  The portal covers drugs from the time they are entered into clinical trials (Clinicaltrials.gov) through their entry in the U.S. market place (Drugs@FDA).

  • Drugs@FDA (Gov): Drugs@FDA includes most of the drug products approved since 1939. The majority of patient information, labels, approval letters, reviews, and other information are available for drug products approved since 1998.

  • EBSCO Management Collection: This database contains full text articles from nearly 1,200 quality magazines and journals.   • Entrepreneurial Studies Source (EBSCO): This database provides access to 125+ key periodicals, 135 reference books, case studies, thousands of company profiles and over 600 videos with transcripts and related articles from the Harvard Faculty Series and Vator.TV. The reliable and timely data can be utilized by students for their entrepreneurial assignments or case studies ranging from solo projects to major entrepreneurial undertakings. Subjects covered include business planning, communications, innovations, management, marketing, organizational behavior, product development, raising capital, risk taking, and many more.   • Envirofacts Database (Gov): This single point of access to several select EPA environmental databases provides access to information about environmental activities that may affect air, water, and land anywhere in the UnitedStates.

  • ERIC (EBSCO): Education Resource Information Center, provides access to education literature and resources. The database provides access to information from journals included in the Current Index of Journals in Education and Resources in Education Index. The database contains more than 1.3 million records and links to more than 323,000 full-text documents dating back to 1966. Access to this resource is provided by INSPIRE the Indiana's Online Library.

  • ERIC (GOV): Education Resources Information Center Institute of Education Sciences, US Department of Education. Bibliographic database including 1.3 million citations to journal articles and other education-related materials going back to 1969.

  • European Medicines Agency: The European Medicines Agency (EMA) is a decentralized agency of the European Union (EU). The Agency is responsible for the scientific evaluation, supervision and safety monitoring of medicines developed by pharmaceutical companies for use in the European Union.

  • Evidence Aid: Evidence Aid, along with partners (including the International Rescue Committee (USA) and Cochrane), assess published systematic reviews and identify those that are relevant to natural disasters, humanitarian crises or major healthcare emergencies, that include health outcomes. There are eight disaster-specific Special Collections. Three are available through the Cochrane Library for Burns, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and Flooding and Poor Water Sanitation. Four Special Collections are available directly from the Evidence Aid website – Windstorms, Earthquakes, Ebola, The Health of Refugees and Asylum Seekers in Europe and Zika.   • HealthStar (OVID): HealthSTAR is comprised of data from the National Library of Medicine’s (NLM) MEDLINE.   • Lippincott Professional Development: The Lippincott Professional Development Collection is an online continuing education system. These online courses maintain compliance with the current national ANCC guidelines and also support the Joint Commission’s accreditation and certification requirements.The Professional Development Collection is purchased by the IU Health Nursing Education Department. Access to all IU Health employees at all locations is via the ELMs Learning Management System.  You must log into ELMs to access these courses.   • Micromedex: Micromedex provides clear, concise, point-of-care drug information, including dosing, administration, warnings and precautions, as well as other clinical content. The end user may search across the entire database or choose to limit by Drug, Disease or Toxicology information.
